Laguna Parón is the largest lake in the Cordillera Blanca, located near the town of Caraz in the Ancash region of Peru. This stunning glacial lake, situated at an altitude of 4,200 meters (13,780 feet), is renowned for its brilliant turquoise waters and breathtaking mountain scenery.
Itinerary
We will meet at our designated meeting point to begin a journey outside the city of Huaraz.
Our first stop will be the town of Carhuaz, known for its artisanal ice cream, which we will have the opportunity to buy. Then, we will continue our journey through the Callejón de Huaylas, nestled between the mountains, until we reach the shores of Laguna Parón.
Here, we will find a spot to use the restroom before heading towards the lake to take photographs, or you can opt for a 45-minute uphill hike to get a panoramic view of the lake and the surrounding mountains such as Pisco, Pirámide Garcilaso, and Artesonraju, among others.
After enjoying the view, taking photographs, and eating the snack you should bring as lunch, we will start the return to our vehicle for the three-hour trip back to the city of Huaraz.
